Extended Day Programs

Riverside Presbyterian Day School provides an extensive Extended Day Program for students and families requiring quality care. Extended Day care encompasses: Before School Care, Riverside in the Afternoon and Camp Riverside.

Programs are developed for specific age-levels of student to incorporate play, snacks, homework help and educational projects. Provisions can be made for any RPDS student to utilize monthly or casual drop-in care. Our goal is to provide seamless, educational services to our students throughout the workday.

General Services

Care is available before school from 7:00am – 7:55am (until students move to their individual classrooms for classes to begin at 8:00am).

Care is also available for most Early Dismissal Days.

Full care is also available for most School Holidays.

Riverside in the Afternoon

Riverside students will not skip a beat as they continue their day at Riverside in the Afternoon.Our unique, flexible, and active program offers something for everyone. Students may choose from a wide variety of enriching options to engage their curiosity, strengthen their bodies and deepen friendships. While following the school mission, Riverside in the Afternoon offers our PK3 - 6th grade students a seamless day filled with so many choices...

In addition to these fun filled resources, Riverside in the Afternoon offers daily Homework Club. During this time students can complete their homework with a staff member who offers guidance and support. If needed, Riverside in the Afternoon can provide a quiet place for a student to work with their parent-selected tutor.

Riverside in the Afternoon promotes the RPDS “Heart Smart” program. “Heart Smart’s” monthly character qualities are practiced through song, art and cooperative learning activities. Culminating each week is a joyful student presentation of the “Heart Smart” concepts. These performances are held on the Oak Tree Stage; a favorite Riverside in the Afternoon outdoor campus gathering space.

Camp Riverside 2010

As a further service to the Riverside community, RPDS offers a comprehensive summer day camp experience during the summer vacation. Campers and their families can choose from a variety of high interest specialized morning mini-camps each lasting two weeks. Campers may join for one session or attend all summer long. Optional field trips, full day hours, and lunch program are available.
