Pre-Kindergarten 4 Curriculum
Language Arts

Our program centers around a thematic approach that introduces children to an alphabet letter a week using developmentally appropriate, multi-sensory activities. These activities are designed to promote phonemic awareness, reading readiness, letter recognition, sound/symbol relationships, comprehension skills and memory skills.
Mathematics
Children participate in concrete activities designed to develop the basic building blocks fundamental to mathematical readiness. Concepts include patterns, shapes, one-to-one correspondence, numeral recognition, sorting and classifying according to likenesses and differences. Manipulative materials offer concrete experiences for building early mathematical confidence. These math concepts are often introduced in the framework of the weekly theme.
The World We Live In
These concepts are explored through units of study such as insects, reptiles, plants, zoo animals, and our environment, transportation, friends, neighborhoods, community helpers, and weather patterns. These concepts of study are the basis for many thematic units.
