Getting Involved in the Riverside Parents Association
The Riverside family... a common thread that binds all our students, parents, faculty, grandparents and friends. Being a part of this unique group is both a privilege and a responsibility.
To give each child the foundation they deserve, all members of the Riverside family join hands for the good of the students. Volunteers are visible throughout the campus and at special events sponsored by the Riverside Parents Association. They donate time, talent and resources to better the school environment.
The active Riverside Parents Association (RPA) is an integral part of the Riverside Presbyterian Day School community. All parents are members of the RPA and are invited to be involved in the life of the school through the many volunteer opportunities that the RPA offers each school year. These opportunities have varied purposes and offer a variety of time commitments. Parents can easily find a volunteer project to suit their interests and time constraints and are encouraged to volunteer for any and all opportunities that are of interest to them. Volunteers are not only limited to parents but also include grandparents and other friends of Riverside Presbyterian Day School.
Riverside Parents Association committees invite volunteers to donate their time, energy and talents to enhance the school community in many areas. Classroom volunteer opportunities include activities such as acting as a teacher assistant on a regular basis, planning social events for a class, or showing famous artwork to students. The RPA offers fund raising opportunities that also enrich the school community such as Octoberfest and Capers. Field Day offers student competition in a fun and friendly atmosphere with an educational theme and Library Aides offer valuable assistance in the school Media Center. Volunteers act as hostesses at social events, freeing up the valuable time of the faculty and staff. The RPA also offers opportunities for parent enrichment by offering educational forums throughout the year. All of our projects have a specific purpose and add value to the RPDS environment.
