Capers Dinner and Auction

The annual Capers dinner and auction is sponsored by the Riverside Parents Association and in the highlight of the school year. Volunteers prepare all year for this exciting evening that includes auction donations from the Jacksonville community and our RPDS families. Each year, the Capers committee selects a theme that is carried out in decorations, food, and auction items. The "Teachers Wish List" is a major component of Capers and is used to provide teacher requested items for the classrooms and professional development opportunities.

Gift Wrap Sale

The annual gift wrap sale at RPDS begins the second week of school and runs for three weeks. Purchases are delivered to parents in mid-October. Parents and friends stock up on the beautiful Sally Foster gift wrap, accessories, and gourmet food items.

Student Art Project

In the fall, parents are offered the opportunity to purchase items - notecards, totes, magnets, etc. - that showcase their student’s artwork. The artwork is produced in the RPDS art lab under the supervision of the art faculty.

Octoberfest

Each October, families at Riverside are treated to an old-fashioned school carnival by the Riverside Parents Association. Homeroom volunteers staff age-appropriate games for fun, excitement, and prizes. A hamburger and hotdog cookout is held in conjunction with Octoberfest.

Boosterthon Fun Run

This event is an interactive and community based run held in the spring at RPDS. It promotes life lasting values - fitness, education and character. Food, music and fellowship are just a few highlights of this fitness filled day.
