Counseling Services and Guidance
RPDS is committed to providing high-quality character education, counseling services and academic support for its students.
Our character education program is called “Heart Smart,” and includes a monthly Heart Smart Character Trait and devotional. All students participate in classroom discussions in both homeroom and through spiritual formation classes that are coordinated through our Guidance department and thematically organized around the character traits.
In addition, RPDS has a full-time, licensed counselor on campus to provide individual or small group support for students, parents, teachers, and staff. Riverside students receive on-campus support in areas such as strengthening peer relationships, academic achievement, grief counseling and/or recovery from health issues.
Finally, RPDS has partnered with St. Vincent's Hospital and The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, to provide a program known as Kids Together Against Cancer (KTAC), which provides family training on our campus in the evenings throughout the year for families with children facing cancer.
