Digital Citizenship

Digital Citizenship is interwoven through our interaction with technology as teachers address the rights and responsibilities of using technology each and every day. As the students move into 4th Grade and have the 1:1 responsibility of managing their iPad, we have developed a digital citizenship curriculum and integrated it into their weekly Study Skills class.

Utilizing many outside resources including TeachInCtrl.org, Be Internet Awesome from Google, Common Sense Media and stopbullying.gov, our 4th Grade students are given the time and instruction to explore what being a good digital citizen means and looks like. Their curriculum includes digital citizenship, cyberbullying, plagiarism, managing your digital footprint, creating strong passwords and evaluating information found online for its credibility. Lessons are a mixture of videos, class activities, small and large group discussions, and games from the Be Internet Awesome curriculum.
