ONE-TIME SCHOOL EVENTS:
Eye Screening // Chair: Joy McDonald
Volunteers will assist in the one-day eye screening for all RPDS students on
Friday, September 13, 2019.
School Pictures // Chair: Leigh Long
Volunteers assist the photographers and teachers with both individual pictures and class pictures. Individual pictures will be on September 30 and October 1, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Class pictures will be on April 7 and 8, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Grade-Level Parent Parties // Chair: Ashley Woodson Bailey
This committee will help plan and coordinate grade-level parent parties held in late September/early October for grades PreK-3 through 6.
End-Of- Year School Party // Chair: Taylor Horne
Volunteers on this committee help organize and plan a fun-filled End-of-Year school party on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 on the RPDS campus.
Graduation Reception // Chair: Beth Poe and Tiffany Massey
This committee consists of 5th grade parent volunteers who plan, prepare and host the Graduation Reception in Kissling Hall after RPDS Graduation on Friday, May 22, 2020.
Faculty & Staff Appreciation Week // Chair: Robin Talley
Volunteers on this committee assist with Faculty/Staff Appreciation Week.

Members of this committee assist in the Media Center one morning of each month.
RPDS Grade Level Parent Ambassadors // Chair: Heather Arrowsmith
Grade Level Parent Ambassadors will reach out to families throughout the year to answer questions, share updates and invitations about school events, volunteer opportunities and the Promise Fund.
Caring Tree // Chair: Jessica Stevenson
The Caring Tree is one of Riverside's favorite annual traditions. Through our partnership with Lutheran Social Services, grades PreK4 through 6th grade adopt refugee families and provide desperately needed items so they can have what they need and feel the spirit of Christmas through giving. Volunteers assist the committee chair with communications, sorting gifts and logistics. Caring Tree Chapel will be held on Thursday, December 12th.
Classroom Parents (PK3-Kindergarten) (1st-6th)
Parents work to assist in planning and implementing parties and events
throughout the year.
Parents In Prayer // Chair: Taylor Day
This group meets on the first Thursday of every month before the RPDS Chapel Service to pray for the needs of our school community. Volunteers will gather to pray for the students, faculty & staff of RPDS, as well as special prayer requests.
All Pro Dad // Chair: Brian Harbin
This group meets on the last Thursday of every month before the RPDS Chapel Service and is open to all dads and their children. All Pro Dad is committed to bringing intentional focus to fathers. Their message is to provide guidance and practical tips for strengthening family relationships in a life-giving way.
G3 Bible Study & Fellowship Groups (God’s Grafted Guys & Girls) // Co-Chairs: Amanda Jackson and Suzanne Taylor
G3 is an opportunity for children in 1st-6th grade to grow in fellowship with one another and in deeper devotion to Jesus Christ through scripture lessons, crafts, songs, games and more.
Artsonia Online Student Art Gallery // Chair: Leslie Kleyla
This committee manages the RPDS art fundraiser, Artsonia. Volunteers help year-round with photographing and uploading student art onto the Artsonia online “library."
Octoberfest // Co-Chairs: Kerry Phillips and Jen Roberts
Octoberfest is a fun-filled, fall carnival for the entire RPDS community. Volunteers are needed to set-up and decorate, staff games and breakdown. This year’s Octoberfest will be on Friday, October 18, 2019.
Capers // Chair: Heather Creel
This year’s Capers auction/gala will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020. Volunteers will help with event decor, solicit live and silent item donations, create and maintain the auction website, help with grade level baskets and assist with event set-up and break-down, just to name a few.
Daily’s Riverside Kids Duathlon, Tot Trot & Family Festival
This exciting fundraising event will take place Saturday, March 28 2020. Committee members are needed to help with planning, sponsorship, marketing, set-up/break-down and day-of-event volunteer recruitment.
Fall Book Fair // Amanda Lucas, RPDS Media Specialist
October 3-11, 2019. Volunteers help set-up the fair, assist students in finding books, run the check-out procedure and help with breakdown.
