Pathfinder Outdoor Education
The Pathfinder Outdoor Education program, held each fall, provides our fifth graders with life-lessons that can only be learned when you step outside the traditional classroom and into the great outdoors. Held at the Montgomery Presbyterian Center in Starke, Florida, “Pathfinders” teaches the students what team-building really means as they experience it first-hand.
Fifth Grade students, faculty and the Pathfinder Outdoor Education Leadership Team spend two nights and three days participating in various activities and physical challenges which help them learn about:
Students become part of Florida’s early history as they try to successfully swap and buy land as some of Florida’s first settlers. At night, students study the stars as they plan their escape through the “dangerous route” of the Underground Railroad.
This is a wonderful time in a beautiful outdoor venue for our students to build relationships with each other and their teachers in a spirit of faith and cooperation.
