The Riverside Parents Association (RPA) provides many opportunities for parents to positively participate in the life of the school. Thank you for choosing to volunteer at RPDS.



Artsonia Art Fundraiser: Co-Chairs, Suzanne Enoch (1st-6th) & Amanda Soltau (ELC)**

This committee manages the RPDS art fundraiser, Artsonia. Volunteers help year-round with photographing and uploading student art onto the Artsonia online “library." Parents, grandparents, etc. then have the opportunity to purchase items customized with their student's artwork. 10% of every purchase comes back to RPDS. 

Scholastic Book Fair: Amanda Lucas, RPDS Media Specialist**

The Scholastic Book Fair usually will be held from March 19-23, 2018, and is a great opportunity to stock up for summer reading. Volunteers help set-up the fair, assist students in finding books, run the check-out procedure and help with breakdown.

Capers Auction/Gala: Chairs, Stephanie & Scott Verlander**

This year’s Capers auction/gala will be online with a fun social gathering on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Volunteers will help with event decor, solicit live and silent item donations, create and maintain the auction website, help with grade level baskets, write thank you notes, assist with event set-up and break-down, and manage item pick-up, just to name a few.

Classroom Parents: (PreK3-Kindergarten**) (1st-6th**)

Parents work to assist in planning and implementing parties and events. They also share important information throughout the year about events and initiatives such as Octoberfest, The Promise Fund, Capers and Promise Week, to name a few. Classroom parents also help coordinate volunteers for field trips.

Eye Screening: Chair, Dana Nolan**

Volunteers assist in the one-day eye screening for all RPDS students on September 15, 2017.

End-Of-Year School Party (All Grades): Chair, Marcela Beard**

Volunteers on this committee help organize and plan a fun-filled End-of-Year school party on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 on the RPDS campus. The celebration is for PreK-3 through 5th grade, with 6th grade students serving in a leadership role for this event.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation**

This committee hosts a "welcome back" luncheon the week prior to the opening of school. Additionally, volunteers on this committee assist with Faculty/Staff Appreciation Week - Monday, March 12-Friday, March 16, 2018.

Daily’s Fit-4-Life Kids Duathlon & Family Festival: Co-Chairs, Heather Creel & Ashley Jimerson**

This exciting fundraising event will take place Saturday, April 14, 2018.  Committee members are needed to help with planning, sponsorship, marketing, set-up/break-down and day-of-event volunteer recruitment. 

Grade Level Parent Parties: Chair, Robin Campen**

This committee will help plan and coordinate grade level parent parties held in late September/early October for grades PreK-3 through 6.

Graduation Reception: Chair, Katherine Rabil**

This committee consists of 5th grade parent volunteers who plan, prepare and host the Graduation Reception in Kissling Hall after RPDS Graduation on Friday, June 1, 2018.

Library Aides: Chair, Jessica Stevenson**

Members of this committee assist in the Media Center one morning of each month.

Octoberfest Fall Festival: Co-Chairs, Lesley Mauldin & Kellye Catlin**

Octoberfest is a fun-filled carnival, complete with games, food and entertainment, for the entire RPDS community.  Volunteers are needed to set-up and decorate, staff games and breakdown. This year’s Octoberfest will be on Friday, October 13, 2017.

Parents In Prayer: Chair, Taylor Day**

This committee meets once a month before the RPDS Chapel service to pray for the needs of our school community. Volunteers will gather to pray for the students, faculty and staff of RPDS, as well as special prayer requests.

School Pictures: Chair, Jennifer McCranie**

Volunteers assist the photographers and teachers with both individual pictures and class pictures. Individual pictures will be on September 25 and 26, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Class pictures will be on April 11 and 12, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
