Privacy Policy
Riverside Presbyterian Day School (RPDS) takes personal privacy seriously. We are committed to both protecting your privacy and making your electronic user experience a safe and functional one. The purpose of this privacy policy is to provide users confidence that their online experience will be a secure one, as well as one that will protect the personal information that is shared through our website. However, RPDS cannot assume responsibility for any third-party applications or websites that may be accessed via the RPDS website or its mobile application. We recommend that you review the privacy policies of any third-party applications or websites you utilize.
COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
When you use our RPDS website or other RPDS electronic applications, you may be asked for personally identifiable information such as your name or your child’s name, address, date of birth, email address and or telephone number. There may be times that we collect anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your zip code, age, gender, personal interests or other preferences. We agree that when you share such information you do so assuming that we will protect it and only utilize it in the manner or manners described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us at webmaster@RPDS.com.
As electronic devices communicate with one another, it is common for hardware and software information to be collected. This may occur when you contact the RPDS website. Such information as your computer’s IP address, the browser you utilize, the domain information, the routing by websites and the referring website’s information may all be transmitted upon accessing RPDS.com. RPDS may from time to time utilize such anonymous data to statistically better understand the markets we serve, as well as to tailor our own website, the quality of our user experience and/or the program information we provide.
RPDS may use “performance data,” including performance statistics, bug fixes and other similar data without any personally identifiable information attached that is collected through its website in any way, including, but not limited to, using, editing, altering, reproducing, publishing and/or distributing that anonymous data for any purpose, commercial or otherwise, provided that it is indeed anonymous.
USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We use personal information to allow us to process your service requests, to provide access to privileged areas (i.e. our protected “portals”) within RPDS.com to send out newsletters, to personalize your visit to RPDS.com, to personalize landing pages within the website, and/or to enable us to improve the products and services we offer. We may occasionally carry out market research and inform you of offers that we think may be of interest to you. RPDS does not “sign you up” for services without your permission.
The RPDS website includes a website-based philanthropy section for its RPDS Advancement Office that provides the opportunity to give online through the use of a credit card. Personal and credit card information is required to accept donations in this way and RPDS utilizes a highly secure, third-party financial gateway to process these contributions. The school does not file, collect or electronically store your credit card information.
The RPDS website includes a website-based tuition and fee payment section for its Business Office that provides the opportunity to pay tuition through a personal account with Smart Tuition. RPDS has formed a business relationship with Smart Tuition because it believes the services, systems, and security it offers provide an assurance of professionalism and safety that RPDS itself cannot assure. Smart Tuition is a separate third-party provider of payment collection services for RPDS. The highly secure services of Smart Tuition are governed by the practices and independent privacy policies it controls.
RPDS will not disclose your personal information to any third party unless you have consented to such a disclosure, unless we are required to do so by law or when we must act to protect the rights, property or the safety of the RPDS community. In these instances we must comply with the established legal processes. Should you breach our terms and conditions of use, or if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with a legal obligation, we may disclose your information to the relevant authorities. Any disclosure of personal information will be strictly controlled and only will be made fully in accordance with current U.S. law.

SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
At RPDS we take precautions to secure any personal information you do share from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. RPDS maintains secure servers behind controlled, stable hardware and software firewalls to protect any personally identifiable information that we do receive from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. As we have noted, credit card information is not stored on RPDS equipment and is instead being utilized by third-party providers that use encryption, which may include Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol technology.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
RPDS periodically reviews its Privacy Policy Statement to reflect changes in internal procedures, external realities and personal feedback. As with this policy itself, changes to the RPDS Privacy Policy will be posted at RPDS.com and distributed as required by law.
CREDIT CARD REFUND POLICY
In the course of its normal business, RPDS charges and collects fees for some of the services it provides. It is also common for donations to be provided to the school by community supporters. When RPDS is informed that a mistake has occurred in either the charging or collecting of those fees, or in the processing of donations, it is our policy to fully correct the error as quickly as possible. While RPDS cannot assume liability for mistakes a third-party provider or its software services may cause, in cases when a third-party service provider has been utilized to support the transaction that has led to an error, RPDS will do all in its power to support the rapid correction of the error and to minimize its impact upon RPDS constituents.
